Couples Counseling
Bridge the gap. Learn to truly hear and be heard by your spouse.
Every step forward begins with a conversation you can trust. I offer couples a safe place to say what's hard to say at home, and practical ways to hear each other.
What brings couples in
You don't have to wait until it's a crisis.
-
The same fight, again
You both know how it starts and how it ends. We slow it down and find out what each of you is asking for.
-
Growing distance
You run the household well together, and somewhere along the way you stopped talking about anything else.
-
Drinking that's hurting the marriage
When alcohol or other substances are part of the problem, I work with both the drinking and the relationship.
What you'll work on
Three things that change a marriage.
-
Communication
Say what you think and feel openly, so conversations get clearer and shorter.
-
Conflict
Learn strategies to manage disagreements and find common ground together.
-
Connection
Rebuild trust and closeness for a healthier, more fulfilling partnership.
My approach
Compassion, respect, and collaboration.
Seeking help takes courage. I keep sessions welcoming and direct, so each of you can say what's true without it turning into the usual argument.
I offer evidence-based counseling tailored to the two of you. We look for solutions that fit your marriage, and you leave with something you can use at home.
If drinking is part of what's straining the marriage, I work with that too.

Before you start.
How does couples counseling work?
Both partners talk openly about their feelings and challenges. I guide the conversation, help you explore what's underneath it, and work with you toward solutions. The focus is on communicating and understanding each other better.
Is counseling confidential?
Yes. Couples counseling sessions are confidential, and I won't share information without your consent. That privacy is what lets both of you speak openly about sensitive issues.
How do we prepare for a session?
Think about what you'd like to discuss, and the specific moments that brought you to counseling. Come with an open mind and a readiness to share. It's a team effort.
What can we expect in a session?
You'll sit with your partner and me, and take turns sharing your perspectives. I help clarify what each of you is feeling and keep the conversation on track, so both voices are heard.
How long does counseling last?
It varies for each couple. Some find resolution in a few sessions, and others prefer ongoing support. We'll decide the frequency and length together, based on your progress and goals.
What if we disagree during sessions?
Disagreements are normal in counseling, and they're a chance to understand each other better. I'll help you work through them using healthier ways of talking and listening.
How it works
Start with a 15-minute conversation.
The first call is free. It's a chance to see whether working together makes sense before you commit to anything.
-
Book a time
Choose a slot online that works for you. It takes about a minute.
-
Tell me what's going on
We talk about what's happening and what you'd like to change. Ask me anything about how I work.
-
Decide together
If it's a good fit, we schedule a first session. If it isn't, there's no obligation.
